My Portofolio

The theme of this portfolio is At The Surface. Initially I wanted to
do a reflections portfolio, but I was concerned that some reflections
were not as good as others, so I put in a split level shot and
changed the theme slightly!
All these photos were taken in 2008 on trips to Florida. None were
taken while diving: five were taken while snorkelling, the shark was
taken with my homemade pole-cam that is fired with a bicycle brake
cable. Half the images were taken with my D2X and half with
Eleonora's D80, which I was borrowing.
1) Juvenile jack. Nikon D80, Subal housing. 60mm. Single subtronic
alpha strobe. F18 @ 1/200th. ISO 200. This photo was taken in the
Gulf Stream, with both us and the boat drifting along at about 2
knots. In the darkness, with the boat as the only point of reference
you are unaware that you are moving.
2) Manatee. Nikon D2X + 10-17mm @ 14mm. Twin Subtronic strobes. Long
exposure of F8 @ 1/8th second. ISO 200. Taken at dawn in Three
Sisters Spring in Crystal River.

taken out i the Gulf Stream at night. This image was cropped and
flipped for the portfolio.
