BSoUP meets on the third TUESDAY of each month in Meeting Room 3, Union Building, Beit Quadrangle, Imperial College, South Kensington, London SW7 2BB, unless otherwise stated (Directions).

Bar facilities are available on the ground floor. Please identify yourself to the bar staff as a BSoUP Member. Meeting delegate cards are available in the Meeting Room, which allow you to purchase drinks at the FiveSixEight bar on the ground floor. Please do not take glasses into the Meeting Room, plastic alternatives are available.

The meetings begin at 7.30p.m. for 8.00 p.m. and are informal and informative.

Focus On Competition: Habitat.
Definition: Evoking a sense of place with the habitat as a major element of the image to convey how an animal is an integral part of its environment.

Zac MaCaulay - A career from photography & wildlife to film and commercial. 

Theme Portfolio Competition: Theme portfolio. Definition: A portfolio of 6 images shown together as a single composite image. The images should sit harmoniously together, but can be of any subject matter. Images may be of the same subject or scene, or they may be different subjects, but there should be an obvious connection between them.

Focus On Competition: Conservation. Definition: An image depicting mans negative, or positive impact on our underwater environments from anywhere in the world.

Focus On Competition: Animal Portrait. Definition: The judges will be looking for an image that captures the character or spirit of the subject in an imaginative way; and expect to get a sense of the animal’s “personality” from the photograph.

Focus On Competition: Wide Angle. Definition: Any photo that shows a wider angle of view than the human eye (35mm focal length), including over-under shots (half in the water, half out) and close-focus wide-angle photos.

British & Irish Underwater Photography Championship - An open 'on-the-day' national competition with multiple categories for all British and Irish underwater photographers.

Focus On Competition: Best of British. Definition: A portfolio of 3 individual images that showcases both variety and beauty in the underwater world of British waters.

BSoUP/ Diver Print Competition Awards - A competition in association with DIVER magazine with multiple categories for printed images.

Focus On Competition: Beginners Portfolio. Definition: A portfolio of 3 individual images for photographers that have not won or been placed in a major competition. The images can be of any subject matter.
