I used to live in Stourport-on-severn in Worcestershire, working in Telford
as Managing Director for a computer services company. I sold up and moved to
Fremantle Western Australia in February 2006, it's been a busy year but my
wife Amanda and I have now settled and are enjoying the warm climate,
coastal life style and extra time for underwater photography. We still look
forward to our trips every year with Martin, Sylvia Edge and the usual gang.
I'm very pleased with my 5th place in the Open Portfolio after Winning the
Beginners Portfolio last Year. Well done to everybody who entered and
special congratulations to Steve, great Portfolio! Sorry I couldn't be at
the meeting it's a bit far to commute these days but I will continue to be a
keen member from over here.
A special thanks to Martin Edge for his motivation, guidance and support
over the last several years, see you soon.. |

No.1
Taken in Wakatobi 2004. Nikon D100, twin Inon 220, 1/80s, f16. I was
attracted to the contrasts of colour using the pink skirt of the Anemone as
a base and the interest of the Clown Fish. |
 |
No.2
Taken in Wakatobi 2004. Nikon D100, Twin Inon 220, 1/160s, F8. I was
returning to the boat after diving Razor and decided to take a few shots
before handing my camera back to the Crew. This shot won the Digital
Competition on the Martin Edge Photoquest to Wakatobi. |

No.3
Taken off Rottnest Island Western Australia 2006. Nikon D2x, Twin Inon 220,
1/200s, F18. I have taken many Pictures of these Jelly fish but spent some
time near the surface swimming around in circles trying to get the sun burst
directly behind the subject with the orientation I was looking for. Thanks
to the D2X for capturing the sunburst so well. |

N0.4
Taken off Big Island Hawaii 2006. Nikon D2x, Twin Inon 220, 1/60s, F5. Night
diving with Mantas, what an experience. Thanks to Martin Edge for making me
practice with both strobes pointing at about 45 degrees to the housing
eliminating all back scatter from the water. |

No.5
Taken Off Rottnest Island 2006 and in the 2007 Divequest Brochure. Nikon
D2x, Twin Inon 220, 1/125s, F8. Grey Nurse Sharks off Western Australia
quite a rare find this side of Australia.
I was diving with my usual dive company Dolphin Dive Fremantle
www.dolphindiveshop.com when Mark the owner and Captain mentioned to me he
had seen Grey Nurse Sharks at this site a few years earlier, he gave me an
idea of the location and off I went. Ten Sharks under one large overhang, I
spent about 20 minutes with them. |

No.6
Taken under Busselton Jetty Western Australia 2006. Nikon D2x, Twin Inon
220, 1/125s, F25. What a great dive site, if you are ever over this way give
it a try. I like this shot because the angle of the Nudibranch as it lifts
its head when it senses some loony is pushing a camera in my face when I'm
having lunch! |
