Raja Ampat Entrance Tag Contest
The 2012 Raja Ampat Entrance Tag Contest is now open for
entries.
If you feel you have a design or image that captures the
spirit of diving in Raja Ampat, and would like to see it adorning 8,000
visiting divers' BCDs in 2013 as well as win some fantastic prizes, this is
the competition for you.
The deadline for entries is 15 August, with the
shortlisted designs being put to the public vote until 15 September. The
winning design will be announced on 20 September.

Lundy Splash-In
The Lundy Splash-In was postponed and has been
rescheduled for Saturday 4th August 2012.
This is a super opportunity to win fabulous prizes
and get some excellent diving (if you can beg, borrow but stop short
of stealing, a boat):
Registration 8am till 11am at the Lundy Jetty. Photos
will be judged that evening and the winners announced later in the Marisco
Tavern. The £20 entrance fee covers entrance to the competition, camping on
the island.
There are a variety of fantastic prizes, worth over
£2,750 in total for the winning participants, kindly donated from Suunto,
Olympus, AP Values, Mares, Scuba Travel, Sea & Sea, Cameras Underwater
and Fourth Element.

Sea & Sea announces housing for Nikon
D800
Sea & Sea USA has
announced the release of the MDX-D800 housing for the Nikon D800 SLR. This
aluminum housing features what Sea & Sea describe as enhanced
ergonomics, giving access to both command and sub command dials with both
hands on the grips. It features fiber-optic triggering of strobes but has
an additional port that can take an optional Nikonos (or other) bulkhead.
There is an additional port for an HDMI out. All camera functions except
the fn button can be accessed, and the pop-up flash can be raised and
lowered via housing controls.
The MDX-D800 will be available in July 2012. Prices are
still to be announced.

Sea & Sea announces housing for 5D Mark
III
Sea & Sea USA has
also announced the release of the MDX-5D Mark III housing for the Canon EOS
5D Mark III. Like the new
housing announced for the D800, this one also featuring enhanced
ergonomics, with control of both main and sub command dials with the hands
on the housing grips, the housing also offers a user customizable shutter
release lever spring tension. It has ports for fiber optic triggering of
strobes, as well as two additional ports for optional Nikonos and HDMI
bulkheads.
The housing will be available in August and prices are
still to be announced.

Website of the Week - Neil Rosewarn
Neil Rosewarn has enjoyed a passion for photography and
art for the past 20 years. He studied photography at Portsmouth University and
during his time there had an overwhelming urge to take his camera
underwater. His first project was to photograph swimmers during their daily
training sessions at Portsmouth Northsea swimming club.
Being passionate about art, design and photography as
well as nature, outdoor pursuits and travel; underwater photography
provides Neil with a perfect medium in which to work. Travelling to Egypt,
Malaysia, Seychelles, Cayman, Philippines, Micronesia and of course the
Cornish coast provides a feast of visual opportunity.
Neil is an active member of the British Society of
Underwater Photographers (BSoUP) and regularly enters competitions. His
most recent and significant achievment to date is winning the Scuba Pro
Young Photographer Award in the British Underwater Image Festival. He has also reached the
semi final of the 2007 Wildlife Photographer of the Year awards as well as 2nd
and 3rd in the best photo of 2006 BSoUP Focus On competition. He uses a
Nikon SLR camera with
a Sea and Sea housing.

biology from Manchester University. Caroline also has a masters in animal
behviour and Nick has a licentiateship from BIPP in underwater wildlife

Lundy Splash-In
Saturday 7th July, 2012
Lundy Islandï's fourth annual on-the-day underwater
photographic competition takes place on 7th July.
The island, set off North Devon in the mouth of the
Bristol Channel, has a statutory marine reserve - Britainï's first,
designated in 1986. Competition categories are Mega to Macro, for portraits
of marine species; Marine Ambience, for underwater scenery (including
diving companions); and Marine Abstract, for other imaginative
creations.Prizes, totalling nearly £3000 in value, have been donated by
Suunto, Olympus, AP Values, Scuba Travel, Mares, Sea & Sea and Cameras
Underwater.

Entry costs £20.00 per person, to include camping on
Lundy on the Saturday night and entry to an evening barn dance, where all
photographic entries will be screened and presentations made to the
winners. Places can be reserved by completing a pre-registration form,
available from Donald Malone, Lundy Marine Warden, at marine.warden@lundyisland.co.uk.
Divers can also enter by turning up on the day but, with a maximum of 45
competition places available, pre-registration is advisable.

British Underwater Photography
Championship
Registration Deadline - Saturday 30 June
2012
The annual British Underwater Photography Championship
(Splash-In) takes place on Saturday 14th July, 2012 at
Mount Batten, Plymouth.
The competition will run on similar lines to last year's
, although a few changes have been made. The Grand Prize for the overall
winner is a 7-day live-aboard holiday for two in the Maldives (exclusive of
flights and taxes) courtesy of Maldives Scuba
Tours.
Other prizes and awards that have been confirmed are
detailed at Splash-In 2012 along
with the Rules.
BSoUP are delighted to confirm that the
panel of judges for this year's British Underwater Photography Championship
(Splash-in) comprises Paul Ives, MA
FBIPP, Advertising Commercial & Underwater
Photographer, Mark Webster,
Photo-journalist, Author and Award winning underwater photographer and one

2020VISION Roadshow
Launch: Thursday 5th July
Royal Botanic Gardens, Edinburgh
2020VISION have announced their Roadshow, comprising a
high quality large-format Street Gallery with accessible and
thought-provoking caption texts and quotes and of course, the very best
images from the 2020VISION collection, an Outdoor Multi-screen AV Show and
THE VISION! Theatre Show.
Designed for pedestrianised city centre squares, cultural
quarters, promenades etc. the roadshow will be on tour over a period of at
least 3 years (2012-2015) across Scotland, England and Wales.
The exhibition, which is being lauched at the
Royal Botanic Gardens in Edinburgh on Thursday 5th July,
will be free to the public and in most cases, open 24 hours a day.
