ITV wants your footage

ITV has launched an online video channel in which amateur sports people can share homemade films of their sporting activities.

For divers, it could be footage of an unforgettable underwater encounter with a special marine creature - or, of course, some pre-dive foul-up on the boat! ITV also hopes that some films will impart useful skills information and coaching tips.

itvlocal

The site, called Grassroots Sport, is run as part of ITV Local, based on ITV's 11 community-based broadcasting regions. ITV Local already runs news, weather, films and documentaries on a regional basis.
To access Grassroots Sport, either to upload an entry or to view others, go to www.itvlocal.com
In an announcement dated 14 November, ITV said that for "the next three weeks there'll be a £500 cash prize on offer for the most popular videos". Selected films will be shown on some of ITV's other media outlets, including local TV news, as part of a Grassroots Sport promotion campaign.
