Fantastic prizes are up for grabs including the grand prize for the on-the-day competition of a wonderful Tony Backhurst Scuba liveaboard trip to the Red Sea.

This year we have also 'upped the ante' with the on-the-day prizes including the prestigious trophies for each category plus £125 of Alan James Photography vouchers, a days tuition from Martin Edge, a YS25 strobe from Sea and Sea, £100 plus a years subscription to Dive magazine and a Buddy Jacket from A.P. We will also be announcing the winners of the exciting print competition which has been at the National Aquarium in Plymouth since mid-June and will also be voted for at the Mount Batten Centre on Saturday. The winner of the British Print category will receive a £250 voucher from Ocean Optics Ltd, the winner of the Overseas Print category will receive a £250 voucher from Cameras Underwater, and both will also receive a year's family membership to the National Marine Aquarium in Plymouth. Oh, and in case you were thinking of watching the odd quarter final football match on Saturday afternoon there will be a screen up in the bar in The Mount Batten Centre with perfect timing for the Splash activities - thanks FIFA!

He has taken photos since 8 and learned to dive at 14, then progressed to work full time as a professional PADI and NAUI diving instructor in Egypt and the Maldives for 6 years during the '90s.

Steve will talk about wide-angle underwater photography, appealing to all levels of experience. He will cover dome theory, lighting techniques - artificial, natural and balanced and applications such as shooting seascapes, big stuff and close-focus wide angle. Check out Steve's site on www.millionfish.com

Paul Naylor's new book, the 2nd edition of Great British Marine Animals, was published on 11th July 2005. Written for non-specialists, it helps identify the common animals that live around our shores and also shows the many intriguing ways they go about their lives. Paul will talk about the fascinating animals found in some of his favourite dive spots around Britain. Check Paul's website out at www.marinephoto.co.uk
