Ocean
Optics on the move
Ocean Optics
are delighted (and excited!) to announce that they are moving
to new premises on London's Strand. This expansion for Ocean
Optics is much overdue and will provide us with much more
space for properly displaying and demonstrating our equipment
ranges.
We are
also branching into diving and freediving equipment sales
with dive training and travel to follow. Mavericks Diving
Limited will operate
alongside Ocean Optics offering, we hope, our clients a one
stop dive centre in the heart of London. |
Presentations
by leading underwater photographers and photo journalists
are also planned for the near futire.
We will
be moving over the weekend and settling in next week, we aim
to be up and trading after the easter break. Please feel welcome
to pop in
when we're open and see what we're up to.
Ocean Optics
and Mavericks are at 7 and 8 Bush House Arcade, Bush House,
Aldwych. We are just three minutes walk from our closest underground
station, which is Temple, and about ten minutes from Covent
Garden, Charing Cross, Embankment and Holborn stations. |

BSoUP
Theme Portfolio Competition Results
1) Alex
Mustard - Rush
Hour At Stingray City
2) Alan James - British
Portraits
3) Jane Morgan - The
French Connection
4=) Heather Hammond - Nudibranchs
4=) J-P Trenque - Yellow
Submarine
6) Peter Rowlands - Wreck Diving In A New Light
Alex was
slightly concerned that all the entries to this competition
were digital. He hopes that this is attributable to the fact
that many members were
away on Easter Holidays at this meeting, or a reflection of
how many members are now shooting digital. He hopes that it
does not reflect a feeling that slide projection can no longer
cut it against digital projection.
Congratulations
to all the winners, and thank you again for supporting BSoUP's
competitions. |

BSoUP
stand at LIDS |
BSoUP
at LIDS
Once again
BSoUP had a stand at the London International Dive Show.
Martha
Tressler has had reports that both days went very well with
new members and lots of interest in the stand and the prints
- in particular the prints from compact digitals which were
one of the things we particularly wanted to promote.
The Society
is grateful to Gill McDonald, Lesley Maw, Jan & Mike Maloney,
Colin Doeg, Anthony Holley, Martin Davies, Mike Russell, John
Langford and JP Trenque for their support.
Thanks
also to Jane Morgan who managed to produce some excellent
flyers from her sickbed although she was persuaded to give
the show a miss so she didn't end up back in that sickbed! |
