Winner
Congratulations to Chris Morris
who won January's Focus On
competition with a black and white slide of a fully clothed model in
a pool. A commercial photographer, Chris admitted he had mis-read the
brief and thought the category for January was Swimming pool
shots!
Runner-up was Jane Morgan with a
shot of an oceanic white-tip with pilot fish taken in the Southern
Red Sea. Third place went to Alex Mustard for a natural light shot of
baracudas hunting silver-sides, taken from beneath a pier.

Féte de
l'Image Sous Marine, Strasbourg
The 16th Féte de
l'Image Sous Marine takes place on 28 February - 2nd March in
Strasbourg, France.
The competition includes
categories for Prints, Slides, Video and for the first time,
Vidéorama (a sequence of slide or prints with music - 7
mins max, text optional recorded on video tape).
Closing date
for entries is 15 January 2002.

The Calendar celebrates the 50th
Anniversary of the British Sub-Aqua Club
Inside the January issue of
DIVE, Paul Kay tests the Subal F80 housing for the Nikon F80 SLR film
camera and Charlie Hood reviews the Olympus PT-015 and PT-014
underwater housings for the Olympus C-5050 and C-50 digital cameras -
all available from Ocean Optics Ltd.

An exhibition of the underwater
photography of Linda Dunk and Tony White takes place between 4-29
January at the Stark Gallery, 384-386 Lee High Road, Lee Green,
Lewisham, London, SE12 8RW.
The exhibition is open Tues-Sat
from 10.30 - 6.00 and on Sundays from 11.30 - 4.30.

2003
Change of Venue at
Imperial College
The January meeting of the
Society will take place on Wednesday 15 January.
N. B. However,
as the meetings room in the Holland Club is being redecorated, the
meeting will take place in Room 201 on the first floor of the
Civil Engineering
building at Imperial College - entrance in Exhibition
Road.
Bar facilities are available at
South Side on the other side of Exhibition Road.
