Mark Webster: Is UK Diving Really Worth the Effort?

Mark is a UK diving enthusiast who writes a regular column on South West diving for Underwater Photography Magazine. To begin the talk Mark will enthuse about UK diving in general and discuss some techniques for successful imaging. The second half of the talk will focus on three specific habitats which offer different challenges and an appealing selection of subjects. If you don't already dive in the UK then hopefully this talk will encourage you to dust off your drysuit.

Mark started taking pictures underwater when working as a commercial diver in the oil industry and soon caught the bug. He has enjoyed many competition successes and has represented the UK at the CMAS World Championships on four occasions. He has run underwater photography workshops for many years in the Red Sea and Far East and is also widely published, authoring several books, the most recent being Beneath Cornish Seas which reflects his enthusiasm for UK diving.

Susanna Webster: Modelling for the Camera - Trials, Tribulations and Triumphs!

Susanna will introduce you to the glamorous, enviable and stress free life of an underwater model! From her first dives to perfecting the required techniques, chasing success on the underwater photo competition circuit, shooting images for books and magazines and finally the joy of taking your own pictures. World travel, tropical and temperate diving and seeing your image in print.....are the highs and lows worth it?!

Susanna began diving in the early 1990s and joined Mark on the underwater photo competition circuit appearing as the model in many successful shots. She has also worked with Mark on the production of several books and assisted in the smooth running of numerous photography workshops before finally taking up the camera herself.
