BSoUP Meeting December

The next BSoUP meeting takes place on Tuesday 15 December at 7.30 for 8.00 p.m. in the Union Bar on the ground floor of the Union Building (next to (walk through) the FiveSixEight bar where we normally buy drinks), Union Building, Beit Quadrangle, Imperial College, South Kensington, London SW7 [Entrance via Prince Consort Road] (Directions). New and prospective new members will be welcomed from 7.30 p.m. See Welcome.

Annual Event:  Annual General Meeting.

As usual the AGM will (hopefully) take no more than 15 minutes!

Open Portfolio Competition

Annual Event: Open Portfolio Competition:

A portfolio of 6 images. The competition is now closed. BSoUP Members only may view all 26 entries in the Competition Slideshow.  You will be asked to log in if you have not done so this session. The competition has been judged by Martyn Guess.  At the meeting all of the entries will be shown and Martyn will present his winners with some feedback about how he chose them. 

Annual Event: Christmas Party.

BIUPC Awards Presentation: During the party, after you have all had a chance to grab a drink and a plate of food, the winning BIUPC images will be shown and the winners presented with their prizes and trophies.

Open Portfolio Competition - Results

Congratulations to Cathy Lewis who was the winner of this year's Open Portfolio Competition. Cathy's Portfolio comprised six images taken in Hurst Island to the north of Vancouver Island, Canada with Nikon D200 and Nikon D7000 cameras . Cathy won an individual glass trophy and a cheque for £100.

Congratulations also to Marco Gargiulo and Arthur Kingdon who came second and third respectively. Marco's images were taken in Sorento and Maldives. Arthur's images included Divers in Mexican cenotes (x2), Diver in Heber River canyon, China Rockfish, Red Irish Lord and Diver with giant fried egg jellyfish taken in Vancouver Island, Canada.

A total of 26 portfolios were received and these were judged by Martyn Guess, who presented his feedback at the meeting.

Next month's competition is Focus On - 2015 Images – Your best image from 2016 which has not won a competition yet!. The competition will open shortly. Please note this competition is open to BSoUP members only. Submit your three images as sRGB jpgs at a max. 1400 pixels wide, 1050 pixels high at 72 pixels/inch. Please read the Rules before entering.
