The next BSoUP meeting takes place on Wednesday, 17 July 2013 at 7.30 for 8.00 p.m. in lecture theatre 2.28 in the Royal School of Mines, Imperial College, South Kensington, London, SW7 5BD (Directions). New and prospective new members will be welcomed from 7.30 p.m. See Welcome.

Annual Event: Splash-in Review.  Brian Pitkin will recap the events of the weekend in Plymouth and show the winning images.

Focus On - Reflections. The Competition is now closed. There were a total of 20 entries so no short-listing was carried out.

The Competition slideshow is now available to BSoUP Members only. You will be asked to log in if you have not done so this session.

Nigel Wade: Shooting for Publication Nigel will talk about capturing images that tell the whole story, in his studio, on location and underwater, for use in multimedia publications.  

Nigel has been diving for 28 years and taking a camera underwater for the last 15; he is a former Divernet UK and Ireland underwater photographer of the year. He is now a fulltime professional photographer working in the hospitality / tourism industry and he also works as a freelance photo journalist for Diver magazine UK. His work has been published worldwide.

Focus On - Reflections - Results

Congratulations to Pash Baker who was the winner of this July's Focus On Competition with an image of a Lionfish reflected in the surface at night under the pier at Nuweiba, Egypt.

Congratulations also to Joss Woolf and Rob Cuss who came second and third respectively with their images of Archerfish in mangrove and a Rainbow trout, both reflected in the surface.

There were total of 20 images submitted.

Next month's Focus On Competition is British Wide Angle.   a challenge, we know, but let's see some wide angle images that show the beauty in British waters. The deadline is Sunday 11th August at one minute to midnight. Please read the Rules before entering via the Online Entry Form.
