BSoUP - Next Meeting

The next BSoUP Meeting takes place on Wednesday, 17th October at 7.30 for 8.00 p.m. at the usual venue, the Holland Club, Imperial College, South Kensington, London (see directions and maps).

Brian joined BSoUP is the early 1980's and was the first editor of the Society's Newsletter 'in focus', launched in 1983', and now BSoUP's Magazine. He served for 12 years as Chairman before stepping down and taking on the role of President. He has judged international competitions in many parts of the world and even won the odd competition at home. He is currently the webmaster for BSoUP's website.

Best of British Portfolio Competition

The competition is now closed. Members may view all of the entries at www.bsoup.org, but you will be asked to login if you have not done so this session.

 


Best of British Portfolio Competition - Results

Congratulations to Jane Morgan who was the winner of this year's Best of British Portfolio Competition.

Jane's portfolio comprised a nudibranch on a sea mat taken in St Kilda, a blue shark taken off Penzance and a diver silhouette in a cave taken in St Kilda.

Runner-up was Trevor Rees with images of the shrimp Periclimenes sagittifer in snakelocks anemone taken in Babbacombe, a mackeral bait ball and diver taken in Eyemouth and the nudibranch Polycera quadrilineata on kelp taken in Loch Long.

Next month's competition is the Beginners Portfolio Competition, sponsored by DIVER. This is open to any underwater photographer. The Competition will open shortly. The deadline is Sunday 11th November.

Note: landscape format images must be 1400 pixels wide and portrait images must be 1050 high. Any smaller and images will look less sharp when projected.
