BSoUP Meeting - October 2011

Previous month Next month

The next BSoUP meeting takes place on Wednesday, 19th October 2011 at 7.30 for 8.00 p.m. at our usual venue the Holland Club, Imperial College, South Kensington, London, SW7 5BD. New and prospective new members will be welcomed from 7.30 p.m. See Welcome.

Photo Techniques: Fun with Photoshop Styles by Pedro Vieyra.  Pedro will demonstrate how to do some different things with your images.

Pedro is a long standing BSoUP member and was on the BSoUP committee for several years until he relocated to Cornwall last year to be closer to some better UK diving.  He has been taking pictures underwater for about 20 years and is currently using a Nikon D300s in a Nauticam housing with Inon z240 strobes.  His successes over the years have included awards from the Seychelles SUBIOS underwater festival, BSAC travel club competition and Beneath the Sea in New York.

Main Event: Back to the Maldives: a group presentation of Alex Mustard's recent trip.

Brian Pitkin will lead a presentation of the images that various members of Alex's recent trip to the Maldives came back with on what was one of the last opportunities to photograph the mantas of Hanifaru.  Linda Pitkin, Joss Woolf, Leena Roy, Pedro Vieyra, Neil Rosewarn and Alex Mustard (in absentia) will all show some of their images and talk about how they got them using a range of cameras and with varying photographic experience.
