BSoUP April Meeting

The next BSoUP meeting takes place on Wednesday, 20th April 2011 at 7.30 for 8.00 p.m. at Baden Powell House, Queen's Gate Place, S. Kensington, London. This is situated on the north-west corner of the junction of Cromwell Road and Queen's Gate. New and prospective new members will be welcomed from 7.30 p.m. See Welcome

Photo techniques: Composition by Linda Pitkin. Linda is the author of four books featuring her underwater photography and has contributed to numerous other books, magazines and websites. See her website for further details. Linda has recently been accepted as a member of the prestigious Hampton Court Palace Florilegium Society.

Focus On Competition: Monochrome. The competition is now closed. Members only may preview the entries at Competition Slideshow

Focus On Results - Monochrome

Congratulations to Ross Gudgeon who won the April Focus On Competetion with an image of a shoal of Batfish taken at Ningallo Reef Australia (Canon 50D, Tokina 10-17 @ 17mm, f13, 1/125, ISO-200).

The runner-up was Martyn Guess with an image of a Black Tip reef Shark on a sandy bottom taken in Misool, Raja Ampat (1/250th F 11 ISO 200). Third placed went to Kathy White for her dramatic Windows at Boo, Raja Ampat. Fourth place went to Josef Litt with an image of a Green turtle resting on a coral bed at Sipadan, Malaysia.

Fifth place was shared by Caroline Robertson-Brown with an image of a Manatee taken at Homosassa, Florida and Paul Morgan with a portrait of a Barracuda taken at Talumben, Bali (Nikon D200, F8, 1/15 105 macro, ISO 200).

There were a total of 37 entries.
