The next BSoUP meeting takes place on Wednesday, October 21st 2009 at 7.30 for 8.00 p.m. at our usual venue the Holland Club, Imperial College, S. Kensington, London. Directions.

Annual Event: Best of British Portfolio Competition, BSoUP Members only. Please read the Rules before entering and submit your entries via the online Entry Form.

Main Event: 'An evening with Michael Aw' - Part 2.

Michael Aw is an international award winning underwater photographer and author of 27 books. He is also a contributing author for a further 11 books.

Michael is the founding director of OceanNEnvironment, a charity organization listed with the Registrar of Environment Australia. The mission of OceanNEnvironment promotes and initiates preservation projects as well as endeavors to document the status of coral reefs, bio-diversity and the impact of man-made pollution through research programs, and measurable conservation projects.

Winner - Trevor Rees

Best of British Portfolio Competition - Results

Congratulations to Trevor Rees who won the annual Best of British Portfolio Competition with 95 points including 21 firsts. Trevor's Portfolio (left) comprised images of an urchin, a half and half shot of trees, a jellyfish, an anemone, a diver on a shot line and a sea pen.

Second place went to Rick Ayrton with 80 points including 15 firsts. Rick's portfolio (below) comprised a tompot blenny, jewel anemones, a scorpion fish, an anemone, a spider crab and Red sea fingers.
