Main Event: Big Animals, Big Currents: Challenges for the Underwater Photographer by Simon Rogerson.

Simon is the Editor of DIVE Magazine and has travelled widely, diving and photographing a variety of subjects.

Simon said 'My aim is to talk about the various challenges of photographing big animals and/or working in current. I'm going to be covering scalloped hammerheads, sealions and eagle rays in the Galapagos; Mantas, models and schooling fish in the Maldives; Sixgill sharks and chimeras in the Pacific Northwest; The current-fuelled environment of a South Pacific atoll and the humpback whales of Rurutu. The idea is that all of these examples will be linked by the themes of the title. Anyway, I'll talk about all the problems and obstacles I encountered on these shoots, and offer a few insights into how they can be addressed.
