The PHOTO TECHNIQUE talk 'Basic Maintenance' was presented by PETER ROWLANDS. Peter used a Nikonos III as his basic tool to describe the care and replacement of '0' rings, covering the do's and don'ts of '0' ring handling. Peter also described how to deal with the simple replacement of the housing '0' rings, the sparing but necessary use of silicone grease on, both 'main and shaft '0' rings, an interesting and informative talk.


The theme of this month's FOCUS ON competition was 'Balanced Light'. There were a total of 31 entries. In fourth place with 24 points was PETER TATTON. In third place with 41 points was KEN SULLIVAN. In second place with 42 points was ALEX MUSTARD and this month's winner with 44 points was BOB ALLEN. BOB's winning slide will go forward to the final in October.


The MAIN EVENT for March was the 2000 THEME PORIFOLIO. In fourth place was TONY WHITE with 27 points for his portfolio 'Poetry in Motion'. In third place with 30 points was BOB ALLEN with his portfolio, 'Into the Darkness'. In second place with 36 points was ALEX MUSTARD with his portfolio 'Water' and this year's winner with 81 points was LINDA DUNK with her portfolio 'Circles'.
