BSoUP
meets on the third Wednesday of each month in the function
room at the Holland Club which
is in the Sherfield Building of Imperial College, London
SW7.
The
meetings begin at 7.30p.m. for 8.00 p.m. and are informal
and informative.
They usually begin with a photo basics talk on technique which
is intended to be most helpful to the less experienced.
There
are regular opportunities to view the best of members' work
by monthly and annual slide competitions. The
monthly 'Focus On ...' contests are based on pre-set themes
and are for members only. Four portfolio competitions are
held annually and three of these are open to members and non-members.
Entries can be brought along to the meetings and then viewed
and voted on by the audience present.
If
would like to enter but are unable to attend the BSoUP meeting,
please send your slides to the BSoUP Competitions Secretary,
John Langford, 64 Northcroft Road, Ealing, London, SW4 9NB,
England to arrive a week before the event. Please enclose
a stamped, self-addressed label or envelope for the return
of your entry.
The
main event is usually a presentation by a member or guest
speaker, usually a leading exponent of the art of underwater
photography.
