From January 2014 BSoUP meets on the third Tuesday of each month in Meeting Room 3, Imperial College Union, Beit Quadrangle, South Kensington, London SW7 2BB [Entrance via Prince Consort Road], unless stated otherwise. See Directions for maps.

Bar facilities are available on the ground floor. Please identify yourself to the bar staff as a BSoUP Member and please do not take glasses into the Meeting Room, plastic alternatives are available.

The meetings begin at 7.30p.m. for 8.00 p.m. and are informal and informative.

Technical talk

They usually begin with a photo basics talk on technique which is intended to be most helpful to the less experienced.

There are regular opportunities to view the best of members' work by monthly and annual slide competitions. The monthly 'Focus On' contests are based on pre-set themes and are for BSoUP members only. Four portfolio competitions are held annually and three of these are open to members and non-members. Entries must be submitted online. Please read the Rules before entering. All Focus on entries will be projected and voted on by the audience present. There may be preselection for Portfolio competitions depending on the number of entries.

Main event

The main event is usually a presentation by a member or guest speaker, usually a leading exponent of the art of underwater photography.
