This picture of a group of Ornate Ghost Pipefish was taken on the same trip as the pygmies, this time in the remote Pisang Islands between Misool in Raja Ampat and the Fak Fak area of West Papua. I had seen these on our first dive and returned on the second dive with a different lens to create this shot.
I used a Nikon D2X in Subal housing with Subtronic Strobes. I used a Nikon 10.5mm Fisheye with a 1.5x teleconverter, to allow me to take this macro foreground with a wide angle background. Taken at F10 @ 1/15th.
