BSoUP's Photo-fish Hunt 2001

by Peter Tatton

Reproduced from in focus 72 (October 2001)

This event took place over the weekend of the Splash-In, held at Fort Bovisand, Plymouth, Saturday and Sunday the 7th and 8th July.

This year the rules were revised, out had gone trying to photograph as many different fish as possible, in had come shooting good dramatic fish composition.

Unfortunately the event suffered from a poor turn out, (as did the Splash-In), and many of the winners from years gone by were not to be seen.

This was a shame as those aspiring to become International Competition Photographers, have missed an opportunity to practice for real one of the new disciplines now required by the organisers at this level.

THE RESULTS

The winner of the 'PHOTO FISH HUNT' was PETER TATTON who was awarded the BSoUP International Photo Trophy, kindly donated by the Image Centre, and a gold medal

The runner-up was LEN DEELEY who was awarded a silver medal

Third place, a new member, JULIAN MONEY-KYRIE who was awarded a bronze medal.
