"The
Living Sea" exhibition will open at the Natural History
Museum, in South Kensington, London on 9 September and will
run until 20 October. A subsequent tour of the exhibition
to other British museums and galleries is planned.
The
exhibition features 24 framed, high quality colour photographs
of marine life, representing some of the best taken in the
Cayman Islands and elsewhere during the last ten years by
award-winning underwater photographer LINDA PITKIN, a BSoUP
member who works as a scientist at the Museum.

The
photographs, which are selected from Linda's book "The
Living Sea : A photographic exploration of life in the sea"
give an insight into the diversity of the beautiful and bizarre
wildlife in the oceans and show aspects of the fascinating
behaviour of marine animals. The appeal of the exhibition
is both scientific and artistic.
The
opening of the exhibition will coincide with the launch of
the book, and its display on sale in The Natural History Museum's
book shop and elsewhere.
The
exhibition is being sponsored by the Cayman Islands Department
of Tourism.
