MCS South East Group - Courses 2012 |
MCS South East Group - Courses 2012
MCS South East Group run a series of marine life identification, marine ecology and underwater photography courses throughout the year. These usually take place at Leeson House Field Study Centre in Swanage, Dorset, UK. Leeson House is an ideal location for our courses, being set in beautiful grounds, having well equipped class rooms and of course being close to the sea.
The courses are aimed at people with no formal background in marine biology. and are disigned to introduce the major groups of animals and plants that are found in the sea around the UK. The general description and characteristic structure / appearance of representative groups is dealt with, as well as their ecology.
All courses include the opportunity to take a dive under Swanage pier to put newly acquired theory into practice. Though these courses are aimed at divers, being a diver is not a requirement to attend. The practicle aspects can still be carried out just as well on the local beaches.
Courses cost £80.00. This covers the use of the classroom, parking at Leeson House, MCS Southeast course notes plus Tea / Coffee on both days.
A deposit of £20 is required with the balance due on or before the course.
