Dive Fest is the UK’s biggest and best diving festival and takes place at Pentewan Sands Holiday Park www.pentewansands.com in Cornwall. The idea is that divers from all over the UK get together for a huge party, complete with live music, food, events and equipment and travel stalls. The first such event took place in May 2009 and was a massive success, with more than 1,000 divers attending. This year the holiday park has been revamped with a new clubhouse and pool.

Enviromental Photographer of the Year

CIWEM’s Environmental Photographer of the Year

Deadline: 5pm on 31st July, 2010

Entries are now being accepted

CIWEM’s Environmental Photographer of the Year is an international showcase for the very best in environmental photography, honouring amateur and professional photographers who use their ability to raise awareness of environmental and social issues. With 2,500 entries received from 61 countries in 2009, EPOTY is now one of the fastest growing photographic competitions in the world.

This year CIWEM have introduced a new category 'The Underwater World'.

EPOTY encourages images of places and people that are benefitting from a changing climate, or vulnerable ecosystems and communities that are struggling with the effects.

Images examine the relationship between economic development, environmental degradation and social inequity, celebrate innovations helping us achieve environmental improvements, examine lifestyles, cultural traditions, spiritual activities and racial prejudices, and celebrate the incredible variety and beauty that exists within our natural environment. They serve to remind us what we need to protect.
