I am 52 and in Government Service currently living in Bristol. I have been diving since 1996 and took my first camera, a disposable in an Ikelite
housing on my qualification dives. In Stoney Cove, with no strobe the pictures were
not wonderfull but provided me with a record of what I had seen. The main aim of my
photographs was to identify the fishes. When the disposable cameras to fit the housing
became unobtainable I graduated to a Motarmarine II and the pictures improved. Housing
my D100 was a step change brought on by not wanting to carry two cameras and associated
gear around. The housing for the D200 when the D100 died was a natural follow on.
I joined the BUPG around a year ago, and encouraged by their competitions have started
to take pictures that might have a wider appeal rather than just recording
sea-life observed.
