Gareth Millson - Runner-up
Runner-up - Tompot Blenny by Gareth Millson
Gareth Millson has been diving for seven years and started taking photos with a Canon S45 compact in 2003. Currently he uses a Canon 20D inside an Ikelite housing with twin DS125 Strobes, this particular shot used a Sigma 28mm lens behind a flat port..
This photograph was taken at the base of a cliff near the Old Lifeboat Slip, Newquay. The blenny was an ideal subject, against this striking slate type background. It proved to be quite interactive by edging closer and closer, several times actually trying to get under the camera.
Gareth is half of Scorpionfish Underwater Photography with Videographer Pash Baker, their website is www.scorpionfish.co.uk
